Melvin Gordon is the best player in CFB. He deserves the Heisman but Mariota will prob win it bc his team is better. I would put Amari at 3rd...his impact on the game is just as big but he doesn't have as dominating numbers as the other two.
103 catches for 1500 yards and 14 TDs with Blake Sims tossing the rock. That's unreal. But whatever, I guess that doesn't impress you.
Impressive but he doesn't play one of the positions that traditionally win the Heisman. He has no more chance of winning it than the Honey Badger did. The last non QB non RB to win it was Charles Woodson 1997 over Peyton Manning.
Which is why that award is a fucking joke. I guess the Big 12 should stop airing that commercial that has all the coaches boasting about 1 true champion.
One of the issues that will hurt Cooper is his big game numbers. The two games with Ole Miss and LSU he was relatively shut down. They use "Big Game" performance to disqualify the ones they don't to win it. If his numbers would have been better in those games and he would have "risen" to the occasion and propelled his team to a win, he would have a better chance. Like I said they vote for the pretty boy to have that award and like was said already usually QB or RB.
I don't know how a receiver is supposed to rise to the occasion when his qb isn't throwing him the football. I mean he pretty much was the man in that game, 8 catches for 83 yards and a TD against one of the best pass defenses in all of college football is pretty good if you ask me.
I agree. I look at that head to head and find the L not so horrible whereas 119 points were scored in that game. Since, TCU averages giving up 21 point per game. I think they will pick bammers secondary apart and simply outscore them in the Sugar. TCU and Oregon would be a good matchup for the show.
I agree, but the voters seem to be blind to that fact. I was listening to one of them blowholes last night and he was criticizing one player for a game he didn't even play the second half of due to injury. The other commentator mentioned that he was not in the game due to cramps, so he starts criticizing the players preparation. Some of these idiots should not be allowed to vote for anything. That's what irritates me about the poles. I think when it comes to talent and production Cooper should be right in there, especially with the talent he has had to go against. When you factor in the style of play Bama runs those are good numbers, just not good enough for the idiots who are voting.
