First, you are speaking to the wrong person when it comes to the Rose Bowl. It's a pretty place, but beyond that I couldn't care less. Second...Um, no. The point of winning a division and winning a conference championship game is to determine which team is the best in that division and conference. LSU was determined to be both the best team in its division and in its conference... hence why they are SEC West and SEC champions. The purpose of a national championship is to determine which team is the best team in the nation. According to current rules, Alabama earned that definition. Okay, but Alabama is in the same conference as LSU... which determined LSU to be the best team in its conference. Paradox.
Thanks for the encouragement... Coming from a Sooner fan, this is really, really good advice. If we as a program, team, coaching staff and even as a fan base don't become stronger and learn and grow from this experience, then that would truely be a disaster. If we come back stronger next year, the sting of this game will start to subside a little bit. Until then its gonna hurt, but as Tigers we've gotta come back and fight. It what a real Tiger should. It is a good point, what if LSU lost lets say WVU and went undefeated the rest of the season. I promise you the tone on this board would be dramatically different right now, with WOW 13-1 what a season !!!! best in LSU history. For me and I said this weeks ago the BCS is silly season, bowl season is what it is. The only title TRULY settled on the field for us is the SEC title. the BCSNG is always up for debate. You dont think Okie State fans are saying "Why didnt we get a shot" I assure you with JJ at QB would have easily lost to them. So my point yes I am upset and frustrated. But facts are facts the only title we in the SEC play for that is truly not up for debate is the SEC championship everything else is always up for argument. Not taking that away from Bama, they won it and will have their absurd shirts with "Got 14" etc etc. Good on them. But we are the SEC champions, that flag will fly in our stadium. What did they say Bama is the first team since 1936 to win a National Championship and didnt even win their own division. Again they took it to LSU and deserved it but the BCS is always an argument.
psulions2007 - I hope I can speak for the rest of the Tiger Nation, I am sorry you guys "and more importantly the victims" are going through what you are going through. We hope the healing for the victims and for Penn State happens as quickly as possible and we are pulling for everyone involved.
