    Nahh, like I said, rarely bet baseball. If Pete Rose couldn't win doing it how the hell can I expect to.

    Five games up, I'm pinching myself. I started going to Reds games as a kid, when Barry Larkin, Eric Davis and Paul O'Neill were practically rookies, Dave Parker was their best slugger, the team was owned by a Hitler-admiring crazy woman, and a certain degenerate gambler/all-time hit king was the manager.

    It's been a tough 15 years since the last playoff appearance.

    ESPN reporting the Reds could call Chapman up tonight and put him in the bullpen. That gives Cincy a 100+ mph lefthander that no one in the bigs has ever seen coming on in relief. I like the sound of that.

    Chapman made his debut tonight in a one-inning appearance against the Brew Crew. He retired the side on 8 pitches, four of which topped 100 mph, the fastest clocking 103.
