Group of players from the area took a bus trip to see a bunch of campuses around the South before the 7on7 tourney in AL. Most of the players are listed in the article which included Avery Johnson. Then this happened. :dis: BTW, seems like the trip helped us with 2012 OT prospect Abraham "Nacho" Garcia out of Fort Lauderdale. Good article. Thanks bhelm. Too bad that the rule kept them from getting to meet the coaches and such. Also too bad that we didn't take advantage of what we could do, ala Ole Miss.
Great article, thanks for posting. It's too bad a couple of bad eggs tarnished the trip for a couple of people. Also, sad that, even though it was done probably more as a gesture of being a fan wanting a piece of LSU and LSU player memorabilia, it will possibly cost these kids an unbelievable opportunity to play for the school they might really want to. I guess the message is, if you really want a piece of LSU then become an LSU player and if you want a piece of the, soon to be a big time NFL player Peterson, then you need to get in on the field.
you are waaaaay more charitable than me. i was thinking it was south florida thugs that belong at the u.
That maybe where they belong, but think about it, knowing that Peterson is probably going to be a big time, big $$$$ NFL player, if you had the opportunity to get, not just his autograph, but his watch and cleats or some other piece of his belongings, ya think you wouldn't at least try. Hell they could be worth money one day. Of course there could be the worse end of the spectrum, maybe they are obsessed with him.:nope:
if i had the opportunity, i would just ask for his autograph. i still think the kids were just thugs. if they wanted something, they should have asked for a momento, not stolen something. i think the best thing we can say here is they were incredibly stupid.
Easily the most idiotic thing I've ever seen you post. And for the record, if I had a chance to steal from anyone, including current or future athletes, I for one would not do it.
So that is justification for stealing? Let's see how that works out for a citizen going in any memorabilia store and trying that. They were common thieves that didn't realize cameras were watching. I've got no use for a thief or a liar.
The watch was probably just unattended in the weight room or locker room and the kid liekly had no idea who it belonged to. Especially considering whoever stole it was sitting on the bus right next to his little brother. As for the cleats probably the same thing. Nothing to do with being fans of LSU. These are Miami, FSU, and UF fans for the most part. One was even committed to Ohio St.
