its not respecting your opponent. you cant turn it on mid-game. i think if they played in the sec you would see a different team. just my guess, and that goes for most pac 10 teams. we offered almost of the ones that came form the east coast, or at least the ones that had interest in us. thats a natural mental approach for teams that are way better than most in their conference and dont have much to look forward to. a championship is something to look forward to, but an 18 year olds brain cant stay that focused when looking at a long term goal without challenges in between. its the reason calipari has the hardest ooc schedule each year, and even then they will be down to a houston at half. i pick nootch
damn. depressing. but you still didnt answer my questions, obama. Soft players? Too many ***** or bad coaching?
They love Pete Carroll in LA, and its not hard to understand why. USC was bad all throughout the 1990s. They had a streak of 13 straight losses to ND and 8 to UCLA. Suddenly, one of CFB's traditional powers is off the radar screen. Pete took over and took them to the top. Perhaps more importantly, his recruiting skills in Southern Cal have practically crippled the hated Bruins. Also, he does a lot of community service and stuff. I can't explain why USC is sometimes all thumbs against bad teams, but the guy is a perfect fit for his school. (And, yes, a suspect in-game coach). We should all be able to understand how grateful one can be to a coach who brings the pride and prestige back to a dormant program.
I have no idea since I only see them on TV. I think it goes back to motivation, and its tough to be motivated when you dont have an exciting game for another few months. for osu that was the biggest game of the year for them. osu played harder, and i know you are trying to make a point but i dont know if the mistakes were coaching blunders our the players ahving mental mistakes. the mistakes werent obvious enough to call. i think the blame should be put on both players and coaches.
Not saying they should get rid of him. Just saying that "he ain't all that" and I'm tired of the media giving him a "pass" at every turn. I don't hear anyone in the sports media today being critical of him for not having his team ready to play. All I hear is that USC still has a shot at the MNC.
 i was kidding but seriously i'd say tirk loves worrying about tigas usc love more than tiga loves usc. and im not downplaying tigas love of usc.
Lack of motivation = lack of coaching If lack of "true competition" in conference is what is "holding" USC back, leave the Pac 10, become an independent and play "real" teams every week. Thats pretty much a farce anyway, if you are the #1 team in the country you should show up to play regardless of who the other team is. I reiterate, Pete Carroll, great recruiter, mediocre coach.
