Sure it looks impressive, but that was not the issue. The issue is does a single game define a coach. I say it does not.
I think he will have to do a bang up job of motivating these kids. I am sure the fire has gone out after all they have been through. They played so hard and with so much emotion all year. While I am really kind of disappointed in the coaches, the kids gave it their all. The lack of discipline and being motivated comes from coaching. I hope he has the ability to salvage what has been a great year.
lmmfao!!!!! To say a coach is not defined by his trophy case is just stupid. And ****enheimer is the perfect example. Les needs this win next Saturday in the worst way. If he loses 2 in a row to end the season and not make a BCS bowl with this team, he will have a for sale sign in his yard when he returns from Atlanta.
Yeah, I bet San Diego's glad they got rid of that bum.:rolleye33: Like Nebraska's glad they got rid of Solich. But I agree...in his two complete seasons, he should have at LEAST two SECCG's and a couple of BCSCG's too. No reason to give a coach anymore than three years, if all he does is win 80%+ of his games...playing in the SEC, no less.
I don't know what you mean by a Championship coach. If you mean he has not won a conference championship or an NC, you are right. But Miles is certainly a championship caliber coach. By that I mean he has the coaching ability to win it all. Just because he did not do it this year does not mean the talent is not there.
And therein lies the problem that arises....again. You know how many times we were penalized for not lining up right? And the one in the TWELFTH game of the season hurt......BAD.
Bowden had 9 years of one or two losses in his first 17 years and went 6 straight seasons with one or two losses prior to '93. He would always lose a game to keep them out of the national championship game. That was before they joined the ACC, so he had no conference titles. He was criticized for not being able to win the big game. Spurrier won his first SEC title in his second year, so I have no clue why you mentioned him. I'm old enough to remember all the criticism of Bowden.
