They tried to take Scott out on special teams and it was like trying to take a pitbull off a juicy carcass. He loves to play teams, and hell, he's really good at it. But I suspect they will try to ween him off the unit as the season goes on.
I continue to be amazed/disappointed that he's never used as a decoy. That said... You mention that he's never used for "wide receiver stuff". Wonder why? They could put him in with at least a chance to blow by some poor CB, and have the QB throw it as far as he can. He'd be 10 yards behind the defense by the time the ball gets to him, and he could just run away from there. And, as I stated, the mere formation would alter the defenses ability to cover the field. They would HAVE to position the safety his way.
I agree 100%. Send him on a go... That will make the safety follow him. Then drop down LaFell on a little in-route over the middle. But I mean, it's easy for me to visualize it in my head. If it were that easy, I'm sure Crowton would do it.
I like the idea (as an occasional trick play) of Jones or Keiland fielding the ball, and then lateral to Trindon as an option. That would make the return very interesting.....
This may very well be the best line you've ever written on here, Casey. I love players with a mean streak.
