Because we were losing and running out of time?
That's why we threw the ball so much.

Every team that has ever been behind by multiple scores in the second half of a game, throws the football.

Bull. It was 21-17 or 24-17 just before the end of the first half, and the defense was playing fairly well. The offense took over and we were on the move. LSU had all the momentum possible, including the crowd, and they were gashing UGA on the ground, yet they call a stupid roll out and Lee brilliantly forces a pass into double (or what is triple?) coverage on the sideline. The pick, in turn, killed the game for us. The crowd and the team were a non-factor the rest of the night.

We wouldn't be down so many points so early if they'd just run the freaking ball.

Last one wasn't an INT, but was a dumb call - giving the ball to a terrible QB to win the game. Idiots.

What this team lacks is Discipline and that my friends begins with the head coach. Are we suffering from a case of conflict avoidance? Where the decision to name a defensive co-ord. is too difficult to make so we name a co-def. cord.? Is it too difficult to pull someone out of the game for show boating and celebrating after making a tackle on a blown coverage or when a def. end roughs the qb on third and long(see Alabama vs LSU 07) I know Saban has been gone and I hope somehow we kick his ass in two weeks but this team needs some good ole tough butt kicking discipline. Look at the penalties we have had in the past few years and I think you will find that Alabama is one of the least penalized teams in the SEC. This team needs a wake up call.
I too bleed and cry(see Fla. and UGA games) purple and gold

I hope he's asking for a new defensive coordinator.

EXACTLY! GA had no answer for #5, #26 & #32 all night and we still threw the ball to red shirts in double coverage.

Now that I have had a whole day to cool off about the game last night here is my take on what we have in front of us.

The co-defense coordinator thing is not working. Our secondary looked like they were unsure of their assignments at times and it showed. Patrick Peterson looks like he will be great.

Our WRs are great, my only problem is that when Lafell finally had the ball thrown to him when he was open he dropped it.

RBs.......we are in good shape their, Charles Scott is a beast like we've been saying all year, and KW has turned things around for himself. In fact it looks like he gained weight, almost resembling Duece McAllister.

My worry is at QB. Andrew Hatch has the mind to read the coverage but will never have the arm to make the throws he needs to make to get us anywhere. JL has the arm but not the ability to go through any kind of progressions. I understand that he is very "green" but he has not stopped staring down WRs yet and we are this far into the season. I hope I'm wrong but I'm not too confident that he will fix that by next year if hasn't improved with it yet.

Funny thing though is that while alot people are saying we have no chance against Bama, with this team you never know. We may beat Bama and shock the ESPN world and then lose to Ole Miss and Arkansas. But lets just not forget that at the beginning of this season we were considering this a rebuilding year before we lost Periloux. So lets not get carried away expecting to be back in contention for another crystal ball this year.

I do think discipline is sorely lacking on this team. It pains me to say that. And I can't believe I'm writing this next statement: The DBs and LBs looking at each other and pointing after a big pass play really does look Tepper-ish. I remember in 2000 when such a big deal was made because the Tigers' new coach (you know, that guy coming to town in a couple of weeks whose name I still won't type) had this pad with numbers on it that players had to stand on to make sure the right personnel got in the game. We all thought that was the greatest thing because at least we got the right guys on the field.

I also remember another game that particular coach was involved in. Tigers were up big late in the fourth quarter. I mean HUGE. No way the other team (can't recall who it was) was coming back. And some DB blew a coverage that led, as I remember, to a first down. Not a touchdown, but a first down. And that particular coach chewed this DB a new a-hole for blowing the coverage. Because if you blow a coverage when you're up big, what are you going to do in a tight game?

And now we've got DBs and LBs looking like deer in headlights again. And we've got dumb penalties. And we've got silly celebrations after making a routine tackle on a 2nd and 6. That all points to a lack of discipline.

Yeah, we have some issues with the Co DCs, and we've got some issues with our QB completing SO MANY TD passes to the other team, and we've got some issues (or at least questions) with the play calling. And those things have to be addressed appropriately. But the discipline issue starts at the top regardless of the other issues.

As much as I admire the Lesticles, especially last year, and as much as I admire the loyalty in turning down a once-in-a-lifetime job that very likely was going to be offered to him I've got to say, Coach, discipline starts with you.

Let's hope the discipline starts to get fixed yesterday.
