Thats just not true. It took more than a year to get his game together and the same can be said of his pro game. It about two years he will get it going. Les has a very difficult decsion to make regarding quarterback. Lee's confidence has to be at an all time low. We'll see what happens.

    Dude, c'mon.
You were here. You saw the numerous threads asking for Flynn, even after a win. Only bad game? Are you serious?

Even with the shoddy officiating, I can still pin that '06 Auburn loss on JR.
    • takes a sack late in game with no timeouts (lose precious time off clock)
    • throws ball over middle with less than minute to go with no timeouts (lose precious time off clock)
    • he throws final pass into endzone instead of 5 yard line we win.
    • he leads Early on that famous call at end of game, TD, no controversy.
    • if he sees LaFell sooner, David Irons never catches up to him to commit that PI that wasn't called
Go back and actually look at JR's numbers his sophomore and junior years

    vs. Florida (2 games) -- 3 TDs, 5 Ints
    vs. Tennessee (2 games) -- 3 Tds, 4 Ints
    vs. Arkansas (2 games) -- 3 TDs, 2 Ints

The guy struggled and made some bad decisions and throws against quality competition. That is the exact same thing Lee is doing right now.

No, I am not predicting that Lee will go on to be the #1 pick in the draft.
I am simply pointing out that the best QB we've had since Tommy Hodson also took some time to figure it out.

This stuff is funny. JR was the best college QB to ever walk into Tiger Stadium. For LSU or any other team. This should not be a comparison for this discussion. Lee is not anywhere in the same solar system as JR.

believe what you want, but it happened.
JR's career # vs. Florida, Tennessee, Auburn, Arkansas, Georgia, and Alabama (i.e. the quality opponents we played during his career).

    16 TDs and 17 interceptions

    Take out Bama, and it's

11 TDs and 17 interceptions. (how funny is that? I don't recall laughing when it was happening)

That looks pretty freaking mediocre to me. But according to you, he only had 1 bad game. Please explain to me how do you NOT consider numbers like these to be struggling.

The fact is this. As good as what JR was, he made mistakes. Lots of them. Now, Jarett Lee is making mistakes, lots of them. Don't write the kid off just yet.

I don't mind mistakes. It is foolish to expect perfection. JR threw 21 ints in his career here. 7 of them were off th hands of his own receivers, and his soph year was the year our receivers dropped 44 passes, he still completed about 60%. None of that matters though the stats are the stats. Hell he fumbled a few times that cost us big too. But he never lost a game for us other than that UF game. We won most of those games you are talking about because of JR if you remember correctly. That is one huge difference, JR made 100 great plays for every bad one, and with him you always expected him to bring you back for the win when we got down.

Anyway, last thing I wanted to do was turn this into a JR thread, we sound like bama fans now talking about the past.

We'll just agree to disagree. Still got plenty of respect for your opinions bro, just ain't seeing it your way on this one.

Defense only gave up 30+ points once ina game JR played.
Lee wins this game for us if the D had done that yesterday.

I am not trying to say JR was a bad QB, or that Lee will ever be as good as JR was.
I'm just trying to point out that all of our past QBs struggled early in their playing careers. Even the one who is arguably the best to ever put on the Tiger uniform. It happens. It will continue to happen. We just have to stick with this kid until he figures it out.

I have watched a lot of football in my life but I have never seen a QB throw more interceptions that get returned for a touchdown that Jarrett Lee. Continually he makes poor decisions and telegraphs his reads. Why can't he just throw the ball away if its not there. I have to blame the coaches a little on this as well. Run the ball until someone stops them. Stop calling routes that can lead to a pick six.

We'll see. This could just be one of those, "I'll be mad for a couple of days, and then we'll kill Tulane and everyone will be praising this team like they did after the South Carolina game," and nothing will change. Bottom line is this: Mallory and Peveto need to go.

The same freaking crap from the Florida game happened against UGA. There are no adjustments being made. Go listen to Miles' press conference after the Florida loss. He said that the defense was ready for all the "stuff" Florida threw at them, defending his coordinators. Give me a freaking break.

No. 14 points came at the end of the game when UGA gave up and started celebrating their win. So, taking that into consideration, we still would have lost 24-30. If we would've just run the ball more, we could've won the game, but why do that?

    Lee > Scott?

    Nope.
