http://www.independentmail.com/news/2008/feb/26/south-carolina-looks-overcome-confidence-issues/ “John Brady told me after the change the reason he thinks he was relieved was ‘because we might start winning and it would be hard to get me out of here if we do,’ “ Odom said. “And that’s what happened. They have started winning.”
ummm yeah. with a different coach. do we dont know if they would have with him or not. i need to wait a bit to read the whole story tho. :rolleye33:
yeah, it may have been harder but the fans wouldn't be going to games either. and i think brady being fired had a lot more to do with other things besides W-L's but starting 0-5 in the SEC was enough ammo to make it justifiable on the surface. no matter what opposing coaches say, this was a much needed change for LSU.
Brady and Odom are full of chit. They are just compadres, because Brady is Odom's hand-picked guy to replace him at USC from what I hear. No Big Dance = No more job for Brady, no matter what kind of run the team was about to go on.
it was all timing... they wanted: 1. 1-2 months extra to scope the field out. 2. they wanted butch to get a trial run.
I think Brady's firing was a cumlative affect. Players leaving the program, always a small roster, along with the two losing seasons.
