Lol I was referring to the electricity in the air the night of USC game in which majority of the crowd was there for the game as opposed to today's environment where it's littered with assholes only there to get drunk and be seen. I'm aware we lost that game. Thanks for information. It was riveting as are all of your posts.
Tap for someone who claims to be such a big fan, you have very little appreciation of the past. That was one of the great games in LSU history. Yes LSU wasn't at the top of the college football tree but Tiger stadium was electric and standing up against a USC team with 2 Heisman trophy winners in the backfield (Charles White & Marcus Allen) and all Americans all over the field was special. In fact the game was written up in Sports Illustrated and the USC players were quoted as saying after playing in Tiger stadium Notre Dame was nothing. If you can't appreciate something like this you have a long way to go.
Well, because before then message boards didn't exist Yep, 2nd or 3rd place when you clearly have the best team in the land is always good enough. Mediocrity sucks
We didn't show up for the bowl game. We got pasted- destroyed. It was no contest. We entered that game having the best season in college football history and left it being an overrated, also ran that clearly wasn't in the same league as the team that won. That was the national perception. LSU hasn't been considered an elite team since. You over-generalize way too much. Most criticism of Miles begins with that 2012 NC game and after. He hasn't been the same. Team play has not been the same. No one expects LSU to win every game or win a NC every year. That canard gets old. But as a Les Miles supporter for 9 and a half years, I'm astonished that some fans are content with the blow out losses to SEC teams and the sloppy, unimaginative weak wins over non-conference powder puffs. The discontent stems from a passion for the program and I'm quite amazed that I even have to point that out. One last thing since I'm here, just an observation. You seem to be an ardent fan based on your loyal, unshakable defense of a 60 yr old multimillionaire coach who is paid obscenely well to win yet you have no reservation at all about trashing 18-19 yr old amateur athletes who choose to play for LSU, some of whom aren't even getting a scholarship, just to spite "the minions". If I'm not a true fan for criticizing Miles, how can you be a true fan for trashing players in a pointless attempt to get back at CLM critics. Please stop.
