Marijuana is not a "drug." It is a medicinal herb that comes out of the ground. It is not processed or manufactured like cocaine or other drugs. Yes, it is stupid for these guys to break laws with such promising careers ahead of them, but the law is wrong.

Definition of "drug" - Any substance, other than food, that affect the way your mind and body work.

Clearly, bud falls into this category.

Good point. I suppose what I'm arguing against is not the definition of drug, but the negative connotations of marijuana use being this monstrous thing. I agree with you that it should be treated like food or other medicines. Drinking coffee can help you be productive, but too much of it will make you unhealthy. 1 glass of wine can help relieve stress, but if you drink a bottle per night, your life expectancy will go down significantly. People freaking out about several grams of marijuana are not seeing the big picture.

As I said previously, 18 grams isn't that big of a deal...BUT...in Tyrann Mathieu's case, it may have sealed his fate as far as his aspirations of returning to the LSU football team are concerned.

I don't think so. The police do a lot of illegal fishing. They tell people that "we need to come inside to investigate the smell of marijuana" and if you do not tell them "No" , they will come right in and say that they were given "permission". It's not like they inform citizens, "You have the right to refuse us entry without a warrant". They take advantage of citizens ignorance of their rights to abuse them.

Never, never, never surrender a right, even if you have nothing to hide. Never give permission for them to search your car or house. They will say "If you have nothing to hide, you have nothing to fear and we'll be on our way in ten minutes". Bullshit. Once you have given them permission, they can tow your car to a shop and completely disassemble it. They can wreck your house for hours and leave you a mess. If you piss them off or if they are basically corrupt, they can plant dope on you.

Never offer any information other than your identity, whether you own the car or house, and other harmless info. Never offer any information that they don't ask for. Never try to offer an explanation, they will just use it against you. As soon as you realize you are being interrogated as a suspect rather than interviewed as a witness, shut up and ask to be represented by council. They will say, "if you call an attorney we can't help you anymore" and idiots fall for this. They aren't trying to help you, they are trying to put you in jail.

This will sound conspiracy as all fuck, but I don't see TM7 letting them search if he knows there is weed in his dresser. Also, an altercation at the gate ... I've never had any problems getting people let into the gated communities I've lived in.

Something smells dirty, especially after ESPN's story last week.

I knew a guy from high school that this happened to. He even called the cops to his place to investigate stolen electronics. Come to find out his roommate stole them, sold them, and bought weed. And they shared a single dresser.

Well that would be the case that he didn't know so. I could see it.

Some of you guys would rationalize anything in the name of LSU football. Perhaps "reefer madness" is responsible for our pathetic showing on the field recently. It sure ain't speed!

When MLU and I agree on something it HAS to be right. My issue is what is JJ doing within 500 miles of the LSU program. This is exactly why I didn't want his little brother on the team. Get him faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaar away from anything with the letters LSU associated with it. He has done enough damage in BR. I hope the cops pin a murder rap on him and he rots away in angola. That would actually be too good for him.
