Chris Dodd is retiring. Dodd, D-Conn., retiring from Senate; AG to run - Yahoo! News About ten years too late. With any luck Barny Frank will be next.
Gee! I wonder why?:dis: He'll have a lot of company when the chickens come home to roost this November..
6 republicans will not be returning to their offices either--five retiring and one running for governor. All the rats are leaving, apparently.
Shhh! hush Red, this thread was supposed to make it look like only Democrats where leaving. whats wrong with you.
So being aware of the whole story makes me a liberal democrat? Why don't you give up trying to mischaracterize what I say, I mean . . . how useless is that when I'm right here speaking plainly for myself? It easier than trying to add something relevant to the topic, I suppose. :dis:
I wonder what kind of behind-the-scenes persuading had to be done to convince Dodd to retire. It helps the Dems, at least -- him stepping down increases the chances of that seat staying blue, since he likely would've been trounced in the general election.
dodd is old, weird-looking and under a lot of deserved pressure. its a tough sell to say they forced him out. i think the tally is up to 7 republicans retiring too (and only one of the seats, brownbacks is a GOP lock), so dont get so excited about this you facsists.
