Saban used psychology to build a football dynasty A crucial element of Saban's edge is what he calls the "Process," a simple but profound way of breaking down a difficult situation into manageable pieces. Saban owes this philosophy to Dr. Lionel "Lonny" Rosen, a Michigan State University psychiatry professor he befriended when he coached there in the late '90s, writes Monte Burke in his book "Saban: The Making of a Coach." Saban had long been interested in psychology and wanted to incorporate an understanding of how the mind works into his coaching style. Rosen started showing up to practices and became known to players as "the wizard dude" and "Lonny Graybeard," since, as Burke puts it, "he looks like someone who has just wandered back into civilization after seven months on the Appalachian Trail." The Process was born in early November 1998, leading up to a big game against the top-ranked Ohio State Buckeyes. The team wasn't feeling confident, and Saban turned to Rosen for guidance. http://finance.yahoo.com/news/alabama-coach-nick-saban-used-152000450.html
Whatever Saban uses it works. Maybe CLM should contact Dr. Rosen. Or better yet go to a reinventing yourself workshop
We can disagree about CLM being qualified. We can also disagree about him being the best ever at LSU. But what is fact is that Since Saban returned to CFB he has owned CLM. So continue to ride CLM's jock until he is fired. We are no longer even #2 in the West. If you are ok with that, fine. I'm not going to apologize for not jumping up and down because my team use to run the West. Last season we were #5 just let that sink in.
Flat out wrong. Yes, Shannon owns 247. He has no relationship with Rivals and never has had a relationship with Scout. Next you'll be saying Terry has an influence over how ESPN ranks their classes.
We can do this all day if you would like and my thought process will not change. I would have more faith in CLM if he took over the offense and came up with a different result. His specialty is offense if you didn't know. Most great coaches take over the play calling duties when it's not working the way they want. CLM has never done that yet he replaces OC's about every 3 years. I would respect him more if he would just admit that he can't fix the problem. While everyone else is making changes we just continue to do the same thing hoping for a different result. I've said before that CLM is the Brian Billick of CFB. Pretty soon he will have a network job as well.
Give up man, you seem like a pragmatic guy, who actually talks football, you're spinning your wheels with this moron. He thinks Les Miles farts smell like spring daisies and cinnamon and every time LSU loses its the fans fault and it's the fans fault when people choose different schools and Nick Saban can't coach.
