Yesterday, during half-time of the aTm/Miami game, ESPN/ABC's John Saunders, Craig James, and Jesse Palmer were doing the show. They showed highlights from the other games of the day, ending with Oregon/Boise State. While talking about that game, James was dogging Oregon, then he started dogging the Pac-10 is a whole, saying the Pac-10 is "looking terrible." Then the three of them sat down and had a talk about how weak the Pac-10 is. Saunders said something about how USC was the class of the Pac-10, and even the class of the nation, but then James started criticizing the Pac-10 before Jesse Palmer finished the conversation by saying Ariz St better show up against Georgia, or the Pac-10 is really going to take it on the chin (I assume he meant from the media). Then, during the second half of the aTm/Miami game, the game announcers were showing a graphic showing all the SEC and Big 12 teams in the Top 10, and the guy said on national TV that "it's pretty obvious what two conferences are going to be represented in the national title game." Neither announcers said anything about Southern Cal. I imagine Southern Cal fans who heard that felt pretty disrespected.
I remember when we had to 'share' the national championship with USC. Both teams were in DC and Prez Bush said something along the lines of "Let's play here on the lawn". I have been waiting for that day since. I hope USC stays up there and we slowly climb the ladder. For us to decimate USC once and for all (or any SEC team for that matter) would hopefully shut up those lackeys on ESPN, CBS and NBC. OT - But WTF is Olberman doing announcing on sports? He used to be a sports reporter, but he has become a wacko political propagandist. They tried the political guy years ago with Rush. Sooner or later he will put his foot in his mouth.
I don't follow him, and I defiantly do not watch games where he his voice is heard, so can you tell me if he gaffed like Rush while announcing a game? BTW - that Saints/Broncos matchup was a great game! Sorry that NO lost, but it was a great game! I can't believe their Mr. Reliable, Gramaticca, failed horribly on 2 kicks that were in his talent...sad
I think they were there on the same day, actually. As for USC's schedule: if it's close at the end of the year, and say, LSU, OU, and USC were all undefeated...USC's lack of strength in their schedule will likely keep them out of the BCSNCG...again. Representatives from the Big 12 or SEC would have played many more ranked teams.
I'm just wodnering how the PAC 1 gets all of its teams in the top 25 and the SEC only gets half of its twelve teams ranked.
Ok. It took the national media 3 years to realize the mistakes they were making in ovrehyping OSU. How long has it been overhyping USC. And When will it quit. IMO if there were no BCS there would be no hype for good Pac-10 and Big 11 teams. The media has to hype it up to protect the system, otherwise, this year for certain, you may as well crown the SEC champ the national Champ. When the SEC gets a shot, they win. Big.
