believing in something is not the same as pledging allegiance to it.

i like america i beleive it is among the top 5 or 6 best nations on earth. i dont pledge allegiance to it, because it is also a nation of lunatics and dullards that are boring and stupid and completely useless.

I willfully pledged allegiance to my wife 23 years ago. That pledge has kept me going many times.

another person is different. loyalty to an equal is reasonable. the point made earlier was that we should have allegiance to some larger entity greater than ourselves.

also i suspect your allegiance is your wife is conditional. what has the US done to earn my allegiance? be a state run by christians? thats fucking nonsense. would you pledge allegance to a muslim state? thats how i feel.

No, my allegiance to my wife is UNconditional. The rest, I will have to answer later. Gotta get back on the road.

    Love the new sig!

your allegiance to your wife is basically the exact opposite of unconditional. you like her because of a certain set of of conditions. and if she stopped doing those things and instead started beating your and your kids and cheating on you, it would be over.

unconditional love is a nonsense concept advanced by oprah types and dullards.

They may pay zero, but they file their taxes, fulfilling the obligation. They owe none because they don't make enough money to offset the same standard deduction, child credits, dependents, etc. that you take.

If they recited the Pledge of Allegiance would you feel better about it all? :D

You clearly said " Paying taxes is a price of citizenship"
Now you are saying: "They may pay zero, but they file their taxes, fulfilling the obligation."

Dude, how can they pay taxes if they do not owe any taxes? The fact that they file their tax return fulfills their obligation to participate.
