I've recently become more of a fan of golf, and I'll certainly watch the weekends of Major tournaments on TV... but if it is a second tier event, I find that there is no way for me to watch it if Tiger isn't a part of it. I constantly find myself cheering for the guy. Not like he needs moral support or anything, he the most marketable, most dominant athlete alive, has a smokin hot wife, newborn baby, thousands of adoring fans, and what he does in a year is considered a career by anyone elses standards. And on top of that his video game on PSP kept me entertained for months. God Bless Tiger Woods...
I'd like to see Tiger win it. If not him, then Boo the Amazing Redneck. Sergio has less of a chance than Monty. That metro/homo-sexual Euro cannot and will not win.
Sergio is a much better player than Monte and very likely will win a major or two. Monte's best days are past him.
not really. Monty came close to winning a major more recently than Sergio if you don't count this tourny. People forget that in Mickelson's infamous choke-job at the US Open last year, Monty was the one choking himself out of the tournament, also. But, I will get on my soap box. I love golf. But if there is one thing I hate about it, it is guys like Azinger and Faldo over analyzing EVERY thing about Tiger's game. Like his horrible tee shot on the 1st today, Azinger spent about 20 mins explaining how long that would be in his head, and how it would ruin his whole round, etc... Now, Tiger promptly made birdie on the next hole, but it's just annoying to me the hard-on these guys have when the world's best makes a mistake. I guess it just reminds them of why they are in the booth and not on the course.
how he still is what he is in the world rankings baffles me. sure, he has 2 wins, but it is hit or miss with now 4 MCs in a row and 5 total for the year.
You're right. Tiger is really struggling after Sergio left the door open for him by hitting even par.
