Of course they were, he is still the biggest draw in the game. Its funny, all the young guns have been jawing about how "they wished they could face Tiger in contention on Sunday" well a big handful of them did and they all shit the bed. Tiger pre 9i would have mowed these fools down like a Kubota
He led the event in driving stats the first three days. His driver went south on him Sunday. His putter wasn't far behind.
Well if you only hit the damn thing for 2/18 you'd best be good at it. DJ, Bubba, Rahm and the likes were feeding the big dog at every chance and missed the cut. Make no mistake, Tiger cannot hit his driver. It is a disaster damn near every time he even thinks about it. If I were him I'd just take it out of the bag and drop in another wedge.
When has he ever been able to hit his driver. However, that course causes for a driver on plenty holes.
The damn ball rolls for half a mile so yeah if you can stay out of the cabbage why not hit it. Pretty sure everyone on the leaderboard Sunday left the big dog in the bag for most of the day. I hate those goat trail British courses. They are awful.
Links courses are a lot of fun for me. I hope one tourney doesn't lead you to this thought on all of them. Hell, how many true links courses are around you? This years Open was entertaining for me because it was so dry. It didn't make for good TV but what do you expect when the area has been dealing with so much drought? Carnoustie '07 Carnoustie '18
