I don't think Tiger has it in him anymore to make a real charge. Even in his prime he played best with the lead. He is still a very good golfer but now there are a lot of young guns who are better. Tiger just not Tiger anymore.
The stats show tiger has the best 3rd round avg on tour.. . His problem seems to be that his round 1 and 2 avg has been pretty lame... The old tiger use to jump out to a big enough lead to where he could almost coast home to victory...
He was briefly tied for the lead. He said he didn't realize it at the time. At 4 down and a traffic jam near the top of the leaderboard anything can happen. If nothing else Tiger has the edge in experience. Winning would rival Jack Nichlaus 1986 final round win at the Masters.
It's going to be tough to back up another mid 60s round. He needs to put some heat on Spieth early. He scares me the most of those ahead of Tiger.
Spieth will be super motivated. A win would only leave him one shy of the career grand slam. Too bad he and Tiger won't be in the same pairing.
They used to call it the British Open. Now they are just calling it the Open. What if the US, Canadian and Australian Open all started calling theirs the Open?
