For the last time.....this is a ridiculous comment. He took over for Kiffin 1/3 through the season when there was a ton of discontent on that team. What he did do was manage a 7-2 record with a team that was still depleted in depth from sanctions. The loss to the irish was close 10-14 and it was in south bend. We did lose to ucla but still won our bowl game in decisive fashion. Anyone pointing to his interim stint at USC as a failure is either shortsighted or short-bussed.
I've got it. Ed stole Ole taints high school sweetheart. No other reason for him to have it this bad. Poor taint
By the time you get to the bowl game, it was the result of what he put in place.....give me a break. The players said they played for him. And if that's all you got, your point is dismissed. Ed was not a failure in his interim position at USC. And Miles was on a serious downward spiral in SEC conference play. He wasn't getting it done. From the outside looking in, he appeared stubborn and incapable of coaching up. No reason with the talent here, that he got the results he did.
Just wanted to come out of lurking to say Fuck Tap. I don't need to see his posts to know he's being a dumbass.
pardon me ma'am, but you did claim Orgeron won a bowl game in post #39. you tried to pass off a 7-2 record & got caught. you aksi failed to mention clay helton your head coach, then USC, s offensive coordinator called all the plays during what your describing as some epic interim tenure by orgeron. the truth is he lost a shit ton of ballgames, enough to get him on a bunch of worst hires lists. he only only 2 ranked teams at 3 different schools, as a head coach or his collected works as an interim coach. as for Miles, go see which school during his 11 year tenure was ranked higher. by my count USC was finished ranked higher than LSU only 2 or 3 seasons during that time, depending on your 2005 opinion.
The offensive coordinator is supposed to call the plays, that's what he gets paid to do. If Miles understood this simple concept he'd probably still be here.
they're called assistants for a reason. no coach should be completely reliant on any assistants, Orgeron is. who was LSU's offensive coordinator in 2011, when we beat every team on the schedule? I think he hired an OC that got very ill before the season.
