I was speaking of it more along the dynamics among the coaching staff. The AD setting that parameter undermines the head coach. To begin with, any man accepting a Hd Coach position, and agreeing to not be the boss, sends a bad signal imo. The more authority the players see the Hd Coach has, the better they'll do what he asks. Saban knew that.
