i'm not a fan of any team in the NFL.
yes i do root for the Saints since they're the local team, but i have zero emotional stake in any one out there.

so you admit he's untradable because he doesn't produce enough to justify his contract?

    did a lil research

of runningbacks in his draft class, he's never finished higher than 5th in total yards.

of all runningbacks in the league, he's never finished higher than 36th in total yards in a season.

I don't MLU is that far off.

His stats are better than most people would think they are.

Couple that with the fact he was one of the best most electric punt returners in the league last year, it puts him in a much higher regard than what a 3.4 ypc average downgrades him to (in people's minds, at least).

He needs to get his act together in the punt return game, run one back for a TD and give this Saints team yet another dimension for the quick score. If he does that, keeps catching at a 10+ yard per clip and runs decently well (4.0 ypg), then I would say he is doing his job, and quite well.

Our expection of running the ball 23 times for 115 yards was just out of the realm of anything sensible. That's not who he is.

The Saints will figure out how to get him loose, like that 30 yard reception down the sideline vs Philly. And I think the runs are gonna come more often like the 18 yard scamper at the end of the game, looking much like he did at USC, I might add.

Those are so low because of his injury bugs which is also meaningful because a guy who is not o the field decreases their value.

This is very true. He needs to stay on the field.

It puts things in perspective since you are not an NFL or Saints fans. It should make you more objective than the average fan.

To your second point, yes! Much of my contention that Bush trade talk is pretty much useless is that he isn't tradeable. Production vs. contract value and having been injury prone thus far in his career both factor heavily into that assessment.

    lets put it like this:

take a time machine back to '06 draft day.
you know everything about that class that you know now.

you're on the clock at #2.
    who are you taking?

    how far does Reggie fall?
does he even geaux in round 1?

    With the benefit of hindsight?

    Haloti Ngata, DT, Oregon

My second choice is probably Demeco Ryans, LB, Alabama.
