I may warm up by pulling out the '86 Masters tape. Jack's tee shot on 16 still gives me goose bumps. Only bad thing, WAFB chose that moment to run a news bulletin across the bottom of the screen.
Unless Lefty finds his putting touch in the next couple of days I don't see him contending. The Big Easy is dealing with off-the-course problems and understandably I can't see him 100% focused. Ignoring the obvious selection . . . . . among the foreign players I like Ogilvy and my dark horse Paddy Harrington. On the US side I like Jim Furyk and Steve Stricker as a dark horse pick.
If Tiger stays home with the wife and kid, I like the Aussies' chances (Adam Scott and Ogilvy). Vijay could be in the mix too with the way he is playing. The group I go with has big Calcutta on Wednesday night. We pool our money and form a syndicate to compete with other groups. So we are working on our picks now. As you can tell, I don't handle the selection...just the bidding and drinking Heineken. Leaving Dallas Wed morning.....
- tiger finished E, in good position. - sandy lyle. wtf? - i really like zach johnson. but his sunglasses obsession is starting to bother the hell out of me. - boo is playing well. even boo ditched the camo for some white sneaks this week. my uncle told me some guys tried to get into the masters for a practice round wearing some nfl jerseys. probably ohio st fans. - mike tirico is going to have to stop pausing in his sentences, even though they make those guys talk that way. it is amazing the power that augusta national gc has. you cant say rough (1st cut) and other things like that, and they have belittled espn. quite humbling i must say. - and a ham sandwich is still a buck fifty.
