How about Jordan Allen... Dude was ballin'... Should've had at least two sacks but was being held tackled and refs missed the calls again...

There was a couple of times that LSU defenders broke free and were flat out tackled from behind. Not once was a flag thrown. Allen was outstanding early but seemed to disappear later in the game. May have been that as the game went on TCU got better at holding at the line of scrimmage. One thing is for sure, those TCU OL sure can tackle, must be some coverted DL among them.

The backs and safeties were impressive. I just knew they were gonna get a pick 6 at any time. They were batting balls down and away like it was a hoop game. Metts passing game was impressive. He had a Couple of long passes that hit the receivers hands and were dropped that looked good. Tcu had a good pass coverage. Not sure if their DL was just good or our running game was average. Take away blues fumble and the game wasn't even close. I was impressed overall. They now have stuff to work on. It should only get better as the season progresses. Consistency. That's what I want to see for the rest of the season.

TCU has a good defense. In the first half, they were slipping 8 and sometimes 9 men in the box and daring Mettenberger to throw. He forced them to get back out of that and the running game got better in the second half. Still . . . whenever we lined up in the I-formation, they expected the run.

I won't say you're wrong, because it might just be that Allen was making plays and they escaped my attention. But I saw Hunter blowing things up repeatedly; thought he had a much better game.

They had the #1 run defense in the big 12 last year? I think it may have been part of the game plan to make tcu stack the box. Mett could've used his feet a little more a few times. His accuracy and releases have really improved. Loved watching them chains move down the field. Jennings probably would have made a few big plays on them with his feet. He got the first when we needed it inside the 5. Magee was impressive in the 4th. I bet that game was punishment enough for Hill. Bet he was chomping at the bits to get in there. I think LSU will get a harder look after last night. We reloaded, not rebuilt.

Mettenberger was making some throws that were just silly. He consistently overthrew the long ball last year, he threw them accurate last night. The out route was thrown perfectly, he had a few back shoulder throws that were perfect, a slant that was on the money, and I'm not sure if he meant to throw the ball behind Landry on the TD, but if he did it was genius because had he not thrown it behind him, who knows if Landry catches it, he had a defender hanging all on him. 2 huge drops that were great throws, about 4 passes that were on the money that PI could have easily been called on, he would have had well over 300 yards in the air.

The chemistry between Mettenberger, Landry, and OBJ is unreal, those guys are totally in sync.

Hunter and Allen are both going to be monsters. Has anyone heard anything regarding Freak?

Now that Ive had some time to think about it and get the emotions of a live game out Im super excited about this team. There is so much talent. The emergence of Mett and Landry is what has been missing. The OL is very young but super talented. Im really excited about the D, which is also very young. Overall we just need to get better focus and discipline. The fact is LSU clearly beat a damn good TCU while not playing near their best. The future is very bright. Damn I love LSU football!!
