Stop Florida's run and rattle the young QB. LSU puts up another 40 and comes away with the win. Lets Geaux O-LINE!!!!
This was an interesting part of an article about FLA possible game plan coming into Tiger Stadium from the Saturday Down South guys..... Florida’s game plan: It’s all about eating clock and using that python of a defense to suck the life out of the game clock. Get bored watching Florida’s offense? Get used to it. Will Muschamp and Brent Pease are content to run the same play over and over up the middle for minimal games and punt it. Time of possession isn’t a priority for Oregon or LSU, but it is for Florida in their style of play. The Gators lead college football in time of possession, averaging 37:39 minutes per game. But what if LSU puts Florida in a 10- or 14-point hole early? How much will that game plan change? It’s important the Gators get off to a quick start against the Tigers.
Arkansas put 164 yds passing and 111 yds rushing on Florida. The qb for Ark only hit 17 of 41 pass attempts. I do believe Zach can almost double the completions. Our running backs should be able to combine for 200 yds at least. Florida won't be able to just stack the box. If they do our receivers will have a big night. The 1st half may be identical to the MSU game but we pull ahead in the 2nd. Florida can probably put up 30 on our defense but I think we put 40+ on theirs.
Well...I would agree if not for the fact that Georgia held us to under 100 yards rushing. If they stack the box, I expect the same. If for some reason they commit to stopping the pass, then you may be right about us rushing over 200.
They will have to pick their poison. I know they have a pretty good qb but he is not Murray by any means. Our offensive play will be like a seesaw. Running on one end and passing on the other.
Every opponent this season has stacked the box. It's like they are waiting for Mettenberger to revert to last season or something.
Right. And a hidden problem for the opponents when they do stack the box is the risk factor, and probably not the one you're thinking. If they are thinking run and we do run, they better damn well hope they stop Hill in the first level, because if he breaks through it, HE GONE. Most of his long runs have come against 9 in the box for that very reason. If it's a safety vs Hill in the open field, the safety doesn't have a chance.
