This game scares me more than Nov 5. I think the Gumps do have a *ard-on about that game and will come out with greater fire and determination.The first quarter will be the toughest we have faced all year. It maybe our experiance against Arky & Ga will pay dividends and the knowledge we can absorb a blow recover and dominate will be key. We must withstand the gumps first rush and keep them to 2 scores max. We do and I believe we prevail.
It may be 10 or 14-0 at half but we should turn the tide beginning the second quarter and see it pay dividends late 3rd and 4th qtrs.
Again this will require the D to show they have more "want" and hold the line and maintain discipline no matter what. They will be the rock on which Bama breaks.
The O must have some success and take advantage of opportunities when provided. It must also remember the game is 4 quaters and no matter what wear the Bama D down so we take over late as usual. Again we must maintain discipline and not get desperate no matter what.
Our special teams have such a marked advantage that if we hold our own elsewhere they provide the margin. From Wing's field changing punts to the return and FG kicking we should have a 6-10 point advantage from them.
Finally the attitude we have had this year is remarkable. Eddie George and others who have played the game at high levals see it and feel it is as important as talent. They see this LSU team as special as do I. We also have the advantage of "Lesticles" over Satan. Les's approach and ability to believe in his team and take the right gamble are another TD advantage.
I see a tough one but if we withstand an early charge we win 31-17.

 

This game does not worry me one bit. This team has been through the mud this year. We have battled, and are battle tested. I think LSU will have a bigger chip on it's shoulder because we are the ones being disrespected. Alabama has played no one this year except us and they lost. Their 1 solid win was against a team who Case Keenum throttled. Worry not my friends, this LSU team is going to make a statement Monday.

Cool heads will prevail here ... Let them come out fired, they'll run out of gas sooner ... We win this one handily by jumping on them early and avoiding those stupid drive killers. They can't and won't move the ball on us with any consistency!

Unlike the last few games, I see LSU jumping on them early and getting a shut-out in the first half on lotsa big turnovers and ST play!

Could we maybe have something in the middle? Something between abysmal offense and abysmal defense.

I understand making fun of the "defense optional" games we have seen so far. However, a field goal game is no better and, in fact, is more boring to watch.

Now, as LSU fans, we might be interested because LSU is involved, but if Tennessee and Florida played a 9-6 snoozer, I'd be hammering those teams for being bad on offense.

Fact is, the LSU and Bama game in November, there were plays to be made and neither offense could make them. Hopefully this one is different with LSU, of course, winning again.

 

This game reminds me a lot of the 03 SEC championship vs georgia. In the first game, LSU won late after UGA missed a bunch of early field goals. Everyone was saying that LSU couldn't beat UGA twice in one year and that UGA should have won the first time. LSU came out and destroyed them.
