I'm confused about the change of heart. After the Ole Piss game, you started a 50+ page thread about how dumb Miles is and this week you're starting a Miles appreciation thread. What up, homey?
Being fair and balanced. Always been that way. Les Miles is still fucking dumb for not calling a timeout and I will forever defend that thread. But let's not lose sight of the fact that he has won a ton of games and LSU has been in national title talks more times than not under his watch.
I would think a combo of Petersen or Briles along with Chavis as DC would be deadly. They are the gold standard when it comes to offense, along with the head coach at Oregon, Mark Helfrich. Add Sumlin to that mix, while you're at it. Gary Patterson can fuck off.
I'd take an intelligent discussion, but shit your pants if you must. Just don't expect me to clean it.
I've been a fan of Art Briles since his days at Houston. He's so underrated, but people are starting to take notice. If Les retired tomorrow, he's definitely the one I'd like to see us go after. He can recruit, but even better, he can DEVELOP talent. And players love to play in that offense. He would definitely succeed at an elite school or in the SEC so long as he had a DC that knew what he was doing. And even if he didn't and the other team scored 63, he'd just say f-you, we'll score 70!
Why does anyone think that John Gruden will ever take a college job? I mean, he's never had one; why would he now? Patterson? You're joking, right? He's doesn't look so good since he joined an actual conference, does he?
And I would be a bit concerned with Petersen to be honest. But he has definitely done the most with the least. I don't think Boise State had a top 50 recruiting class over the last 10 seasons in which he has dominated on the field.
