They looked ready to play just not ready to play with a hard slick ball. They had some missed assignments on the OL but if you play from behind all day the defense has a huge advantage. The decision to practice indoors all week is just inexplainable and looks like the biggest factor against the saints in the game. Chicago's offense was inept to say the least and the saints moved the ball easily until they turned the ball over. No excuse for putting the ball on the ground so many times in such a big game late in the season.

Payton is overrated? Wow, that's probably the dumbest thing I've read in a long time. Our running game was hard to come by this game and when you're down, you have to resort to the pass. Did I want to see Deuce more? Sure, but with the conditions of the field and the way the running game was going, we needed to pass.

Yes, Brees is a big part of this team's success, but you cannot deny the fact that Payton and his playcalling and coaching style put us in a position to win this year. Mistakes lost this game, not Payton.

Payton is a great coach, but they clearly needed to run more, especially in the first half. Even if you're not getting down the field, you have to wear down the other defense. And Deuce SEEMS built for conditions like this. I could be wrong though.

Lets cut loco some slack a lot of Saints fans are going to say a lot of irrational things tonight. It's been a great ride and I personally can't wait for next season!

I think another thing you need to take into account is that Deuce looked like he was hurting and limping throughout the game. He was the same way last weekend. He hasn't been 100% all season since his knee surgery, so I'm thinking that that could be a reason we didn't pound the ball as much as we could have.

Saints were averaging nearly 5 yards per carry... the running game was working fine until the passing game killed drives. When you pass the ball nearly 50 times, you are gonna turn the ball over. The other team is teeing off on the line because they know you are going to pass the ball.. simple as that... when you play the first half and have about 10 drops due to the weather, you run the ****ing football..

You are!!!:D The pass was there but the run wasn't, the difference in the game was turnovers pure and simple. Everytime the saints made a drive they put the ball on the ground. Missed opportunities early and short drives for the bears spelled disater for the saints. The saints out gained the bears 375yds to 340yds, so the offense was working but the saints put the ball on the ground time after time while the bears had no turnovers.

Let's also not forget that our offensive line didn't exactly do a great job of protecting Brees today.
