Well you still have your cumbaya thread http://tigerfan.com/threads/the-official-cooler-heads-thread.109619/ Just keep re-reading the posts there and all the problems will magically be solved. And 420, of course.
I do not look at it as being pessimistic. I see it as being a realist. I like Miles the man. I just feel his best is behind him. He has not done a good job since after the '11 SECCG.
They didn't seem flat to me. It was more like they were confused--like no team we have played has done what they expected. It's the coaches job to have the team ready to play but this team seems really slow on the uptake and many players seem to be not quite ready for prime time. We can all see the speed and the talent. They just keep doing stupid things and being confused on offense and defense. The loss of all those juniors for three straight years is showing. There seem to be no team leaders.
3 things that are just burning me up right now: 1. Offensive line play. What the F happened here? They were made out to be "the best ever", which could not be further from the truth. 2. Jennings does not have any substantial advantage in gametime experience over Harris. That is just smoke and mirrors. Harris obviously has a lot more to offer and should be taking the majority of the snaps. If this turns into another JJ has pictures of Miles with a goat situation, so he remains the starter, we are all in for some nasty football in the years ahead. 3. Linebackers. In particular the one ISLSTL lead off with, #31. Not a SEC caliber MLB in any way, shape, or form. We need Beckwith's size and athleticism at that position. That change is non negotiable, and should be made immediately.
http://lsu.247sports.com/Bolt/Jennings-will-remain-the-starter-31443099 "We will play in a like fashion that we have in the past, with Brandon Harris getting a little more playing time," Miles said. I don't think you want to say those words after Saturday night's debacle.
Porter is an embarrassment so far as center. Our TE, who was supposed to be blocking, allowed Jennings to get absolutely killed on two occasions last week. He's lucky he doesn't have a broken collarbone. Our run defense, especially up the middle, is non-existent. That starts with our tackles, but make no mistake, our linebackers screw up too much, as well.
