I have to agree as well time for them to go. I want to see a kick your azz mentality in our defense not play on your heals and line up safeties on 4.3 wide outs. There is just no nastiness to this defense.

You can put up all the stats you want but I hate this defense. I've thought for a couple years now we are underachieving but gave Pelini a pass because of who he is. I want to see an attacking defense that gets sacks and turnovers. We are more than capable of putting up better numbers with a better scheme.

Good list. I noticed #1 and #2 as well on the replay. Frustrating. Troy at least ran safety and blind side blitzes in hopes of getting one in undetected.

#3 is probably the biggest smoking gun vis-a-vis the topic. I have to agree that there was a lot of shrugging and "WTF" kind of gestures going on.

LSU's LBs are not great in pass coverage, but I thought - overall - LSU's CB and safeties (including nickel/dime) are getting very good. They'll be awesome in the coming years. Lots of depth and talent. Anyway - that all seems to not exactly implicate the co-def coords.

Thanks for taking the time to lay out some details. Like most, I would be surprised to see CLM fire anyone, but I would NOT be surprised to see Mallory take the job and Peveto stay the LB coach.

Honestly, are you happy with the direction our defense is going?

I mean are you sitting there watching the game and saying to yourself, "gee if only they would let one of these guys make all the calls, then we would have an awesome defense"?

Mallory is making all the calls. Peveto just is in charge of relaying messages down to the players and have some emotion on the sideline to keep our players pumped up.

I've watched all season, and I'm not one to make snap decisions. I don't like the defensive coaching this season. I don't like the "co", nor do I think one should get the top spot. If they are good position coaches, and they don't have so much ego that they will fight or not support the new coordinator, then keep them. A new coord. may want his own folks, although Crowton didn't get his, and he's done well. I'm ready for an aggressive D coordinator next season. Here's hope!

No, it's time to clean house. Get rid of the bunch. Go out and find someone that hates QBs and goes for the throat. All this pansy 9-10 yard cushions and other soft zone scheming is garbage, not to mention the pitiful tackling.

I am in no way a fairweather fan (see the thread I started) but these two clowns HAVE to go.

As I have stated, if you have two defensive coordinators, then you have no defensive coordinator. If two are accountable for the development (or lack there of) of the defense, then no one is accoutable. It was a terrible idea. Terrible! If Les had confidence in either of them, he would have named ONE of the two THE defensive coordinator.

When is the last time you heard the term, co-CEO, or co-CFO...etc.

It makes no sense. If they could not do what was necessary to separate themselves as SEC caliber coaches, then they have no business in their current postions.

I didn't like it to start with and I don't like it now. There is athletic ability out the ass on our defense, yet they are constantly out of postion. That isn't ability or talent...its the coaching.

I rest my case...get their asses out of here on a midnight train to Georgia (that would be nice wouldn't it) and get us a legit, big time D coordinator!

    Geaux Tigers!!!

Mallory ought be put back in his original position. Certainly Peveto should be fired. He was a lousy special teams coach and he has not improved as a co-DC.
