He should. Whether or not he will is another matter. Coaches don't like to fire other coaches. But he definitely needs to be looking for a new DC. Mallory and Peveto can return to their former positions.

Not heresy. Just stupid. Since coming to LSU Miles has established himself as one of the best coaches in football and has continued the winning tradition started by Saban. If he remains at LSU I can easily see him winning at least one and mayby more NCs.

He needs to find somebody who likes to go for the jugular. Someone who hates QBs and get's PO-ed when a first down is made. This bend and bend and bend and finally breaking crap has gotten old, and it's not LSU football. I wanna see some tenacity! Troy threw the ball 72 times, and the d-line got how many sacks? One? Zero? Pitiful.

I'd like to read posts with some specific insight into what Mallory/Peveto are doing/not doing that Pelini didn't do/did. Seems like a lot of venting.

Personally, the defense has been disappointing to me since mid-season last year. Not horrid. Just not typical LSU defense. So I'm wondering if all the Mallory/Peveto bashing is on target or misplaced?

So, convince me. I'm open to it - just haven't seen a good argument that rises above the "You suck" level of debate.

I agree that CLM is a great coach. My only beef about his coaching is that his clock mgmt needs to improve, this has bugged me since last year (even tho we won it all). It's just funny that when a fan voices his frustrations with CLM, that fan is not a "true" fan is some peoples eyes but all the DCs are fair game.

BTW: I can't stand the 2 DC system either.

Not sure about last year, but I know this year we are very shoddy on our QB pressure and our secondary getting killed. Now most of the time it's with crossing routes, so you have to change up your coverage to battle that. Alot of teams run crossing routes to battle zone coverage.

With 2 DCs you have no accountability. You need someone to be "the man".

Held Florida to only 24 points.

Held Arkansas to 28 points in regulation with the great McFadden terrorizing us and a lot of other people in his outstanding career.

Held Kentucky to 27 points in regulation.

Bama scored a ton of points due to 3 picks by Flynn plus a punt return for a TD.

Tennessee scored 14. Ohio State totally shut down and embarrassed.

And that's with key injuries to LSU's defense.

    Help me out here 88.

Defensive backs actually defending passes and actually intercepting quite a few.

    Actual pressure on the quarterback.

    Tackling.

    Alot of decleating hits.

    Soo...

Is that an argument against Mallory/Peveto? Because it seems like you're talking about personnel issues, not coaching issues.

As for pressure on the QB, that hasn't been a strong suit for about 15 games or so.
