Anyone know the NFL was a non-profit organization? I just found that out tonight. That means they skip out on about 40 million in taxes a year. Now granted in the grand scheme of things with a national debt around 13 trillion I think, makes you realize something. The NFL makes ridiculous amounts of money and they almost let the league not start last season, this season they haggle over peanuts the refs were asking for. They throw out fines on players for bullshit, and the biggest one, suspending the Saints coach, Vilma, Fujita, Smith, Vitt, and Loomis just so they could look like they care about player safety because of the former players suing them for trying to hide information about head injuries. Why is a non profit banking 9 billion a year?
I had no idea. It certainly doesn't conduct it's business like a non-profit. I'm not sure what qualifies a business to be a non-profit, but you'd think one earning the type of cheddar like the NFL would not be one. I actually think their taxes would be higher then $40m if they're grossing $9B.
