Its going to be close, not completely balanced, but not big in favor of one way or the other. Maybe like 58/42.
I'm saying that as long as Mettenberger stays healthy and does remotely as expected, there is no need to rush Bolden along. There was a reason LSU was playing a 2 QB system sometimes...neither QB was any good. If I had been coach Miles I would have been playing a 2 QB system also....as he says with RBs, "trying to find a hot hand." I do agree that Bolden should be on a quick learning curve...played major college football for 2 years and Studrawa/Kragthorpe's passing offense is certainly not the intricate system that Crowton had. I just think there is a bigger gap in talent between Mettenberger and Bolden than between Jarrett Lee and Jordan Jefferson.
I think it will be balanced at 50/50 until Mett gets his reads down and a little more experience and then i think they will start throwing alot more to open up the run game alot more...
I still believe he wants a dual threat QB in the game. And he'll have a couple at his disposal. If not at the beginning, by the 4th game of the season.
Prediction: Randall who you have mentioned a couple of times will never throw 1 single pass at LSU in a game. I see no evidence that Miles wants a dual threat QB playing. What I do see evidence of is that if he doesn't trust either QB to do an effective job, he will definitely go with the guy who is mobile. That is the main reason Jefferson beat out Lee for the starting QB job 3 straight years.
Ahhh yes, the one who can't help but provide so much message board fodder. 50/50 you should slap yourself for being delusional. When was the last time LSU had a QB throw for 300 in a game? I think you are the one that told me this so you should know.
Just a gut feeling being thrown out there. It may not happen, I really hope Mett is good enough to where it doesnt happen. But I feel like it is a possible scenario given track record.
