Dude, I know lol. We won off talent alone..... and i truly believe that. when all else failed, players stepped up.. Still, I thin LSU can be great, im just waiting lol But some times I feel some fans think that we'll never be great... not saying its you..
It is clear talent has given us the 4-0 start much like last year. Now to start im not being negative but in reality, the rest of the talent ( O and D lines and coaching) will have to step up to win 10 games. Hell, we could win em all if we played like a 4-5star team.. I wish the best for the UGA game... I really do and even if we lose we will all be here...
LSU has the talent to win another national championship but unfortunately has the coaching that will cost us at least 4 games.
I agree, given that Miles is a O line guy, i am starting to think the talent is less than last year in Both the O line and D line.. Still workable though
Wasn't it just last week everyone was complaining about how Jefferson couldn't hit the deep ball to save his life? For the first time I saw the O-line actually sustain the pocket long enough for him to do that. I can't really complain about how the D played today. State had 3 decent drives the entire game. One TD came off the deep snapper and punter downing the ball at the 1 instead of taking the safety. Another came off a very lucky pass play. Here are some defensive stats through the ULL game: vs. UW vs. Vandy + ULL Points 23 12 Total Yds. 478 482 TD 2 1 3rd-D conv. 11-19 10-31 There's still a LOT of room for improvement, but to say that there hasn't been ANY progress over 4 weeks is just plain stupid.
Fine and dandy, but I'll save my frustration for when Georgia beats us by 20 and Florida by 50 like everyone thinks is going to happen now. I'll save it for when we go on that 4-game SEC losing streak our fans and the talking heads seem to think is inevitable. For today, I'm not gonna sweat it for a W.
At the end of the day no matter how bad they play we all want them to win and are happy at the end of the day to be 4-0. I try to stay on the optimistic side that our shortcomings will be corrected and we will perform like the damn good team we have on paper. But I can understand the frustration of some and can see their side. The glass half fulls need to try and understand where the glass half empties are coming from. When you have a team like ours that is in the top 5 every year in recruiting and on a level playing field with the bama's and florida's of the world over the last few years you expect a better product on the field their fans do and their teams are delivering. Yes the parody is obvious in college football and you expect some surprises and upsets but not every game should be a nail biter in the 4th and to be honest hell with some of these teams it should be over at the half, you expect when your viewed as as an upper tier team to handle lets say less talented teams. We play down to our competiton period and that is frustrating to watch and under Miles it happens way to often. Some of you have the same ho hum attitude that miles has on the sidelines and I'm sorry but he needs to get fired up on some of these guys including coaches not everyone responds to a pat on the ass and clapping hands sometimes you need to grab a facemask, get in faces, and hold some accountability. There is way to many mistakes made by upper classman and no sign of who the real leaders of this team are. You can live with freshman mistakes but lack of leadership will eventually cause more than one blimish on this undefeated record we are happy to have. A win is a win yes great saying but I will say that when its a goal line stand against Florida not MSU.
So, into the 4th game of the season, the running game being held to 30 yards (still no 100 yard rusher yet) and an offense that was 2 for 15 in 3rd down conversions doesn't frustrate you? There may be progression, but it's minimal. I think a lot of us thought that by this time we'd be rollin'. So far, not so much. Why does Nebraska play ULL and put up a shut out and score 55 points? It boggles my mind.
And here we get to the heart of the problem. If you choose not to see any progress you're not going to see it, no matter what I say or how many stats I post. The point being made--not by me, not by anyone else here, but by two guys who have been doing sports talk radio forever and should know better--is that there has been NO progress whatsoever in four weeks, and that's patently untrue. I think they, like a lot of people here, are allowing their emotions and sky-high expectations to view the team in an excessively negative light. I don't know how to make this clearer: there is a HUGE amount of things to work on and improve. I just happen to think we'll have things together more than most people think right now when we start the meat of the schedule next week, and I think it'll be enough to beat UGA for starters. If I'm wrong about how the team will shape up in the coming weeks I'll be man enough to eat my fair share of crow. We're an ugly 4-0, but it's better than what USC, Ole Miss and a whole lot of other teams can claim right now.
