I understand what you are saying and I agree with most of the posts you have written however I do think the coaches are being very careful with JJ. See below. No I don't however if we aren't more careful with him than last year he could turn the ball over and we could have the same result as last year. He is a young QB and they are bringing the offense around slowly. The last thing we need is 2 young QB's who become head cases from turning the ball over. I do think last year has a lot to do with the problems we have on offense. Maybe this is one reason we can't run the ball? Everyone is loading the box until our QB's can prove that they are a passing threat? I think we can beat UGA, honestly I don't know if we can beat Florida at this point?
My fault. I didn't watch the game (at work). I was going off of the box score and JJ's 2 TDs. Still, UF, Ole Miss, Auburn and UGA > Miss State. Maybe this will be another year like 2007 where we all have near heart attacks after every game.
Well teabags hurt!. I just think LSU is a few missed blocks and a few missed tackles away from a Great team... one of these games it will click and when it does. mmmmmm
I don't care if the offense scores them, or if the defense and special teams scores them. As long as LSU scores more points than their opponent it means a victory. Also, keep in mind this - Tennessee gave up 23 points to Florida last week, and 23 points to Ohio Bobcats today. Does that mean Florida and Ohio's offenses are equivalent? The point being that you just don't know what a team's going to do each week, on offense or defense. How many predicted that the South Carolina/Georgia game a couple of weeks ago was going to be such a high scoring game? Let's support the team, see what the coaches and players do against Georgia, and then see if we can make Tebow cry again?
Well like every game so far, LSU had many times to get some points but came up short. i.e redzone. THough tonight, it was because of the lack of run game. many times we had 2nd and 2 and couldn't get the first down... What i saw in the players was disappointment. They know it, the coaches know it and we know it.. Still, it takes all those guys clicking at the same moment to make it happen. it will happen at some point. I thought it would be this game and yea, i was upset but when the dust clears I still love LSU baby!
Speaking of negativity this is the first time I can remember Gordy and Hanagriff being almost unlistenable in the postgame show hearing all their complaining. They act like the team shouldn't even show up for the next 8 games. I turned it off when they actually said the team is no better today than they were against UW.
Look, dude, we all love LSU. That's the only reason so many of us waste so much time trying to convince people that our thoughts and opinions are worth reading. While LSU is 4-0, it's a frustrating 4-0. Our offense was 2 for 15 on 3rd downs.... and we still won. It's rare that a team wins with such bad play in a so many areas, and it won't continue to happen every game (especially against the better teams of the schedule), which is why I'm frustrated. I guess after last year, I'm waiting for it to catch up to us. We had similar problems then and were 4-0 at one point.
Based on the running game, d-line play, o-line play, 3rd down conversions, and competition, have we really improved? I would say that the passing and special teams have gotten a bit better, but overall, I don't think there has been much progression.
It's like CajunPunk said...frustration. That's what I heard from Rush and Hanagriff, from Greg Bowser, from Deke Bellavia's callers, and surmised from posts on multiple websites.
