I hate the Lakers. However, as discussed above, being the number two seed actually works in the Hornets favor.
Well, if we're not careful, the Hornets could get the Nuggets in the first round anyway. If the Nuggets beat the Grizzlies, and Dallas loses to New Orleans tonight, Denver get's No. 7.
I doubt the Mavs are saying to themselves that they would love to open up the NBA playoffs playing a road game against the Lakers. They should win tonight with the Hornets not making that much of an effort (e.g., resting people).
Hornets are not out of the Jazz path yet. If the Jazz beat SA they will move to the #3 seed because they have the tie breaker over SA and Houston and that means they will get home court in the 1st series against the Suns or Rockets. If the Jazz lose to SA and the Rockets lose, then the Jazz would face Houston with home court in the 1st round. If the Jazz lose and Houston wins, Jazz face the rockets @ Houston. The Jazz hold the tie breaker against all west teams except the Lakers. Clair, does this sound right?
yes. I think you nailed it. http://www.chron.com/sports/rockets/ has a great breakdown of what is going down.
Assuming the Spurs don't lose a 20 point lead at home, it will be: East: 1. Boston 8. Atlanta 4. Cleveland 5. Washington 3. Orlando 6. Toronto 2. Detroit 7. Philly West: 1. Lakers 8. Nuggets 4. Jazz 5. Rockets* 3. Spurs 6. Suns 2. Hornets 7. Mavs (* denotes Rockets have home court in the series).
I would say they are not coming back. SA was shooting around 78% in the 1st half :shock:and the Jazz were around 35%. Jazz were getting the shots they wanted but nothing would fall. Got the matchup I wanted but would have liked home court. When does the series start?
