footballsfuture.com....another vote for the Saints taking Vic Beasley from Clemson. Meanwhile, Alpha Football Expert selects for the Saints.....La'el Collins. They feel he would be another Carl Nicks-type at guard.
It's still a little early for looking at whom they will take. Gonna be fun to see all the players that want to come out early. I know this, the Saints have need at a number of positions. Saints shaking things up. May deserve it's own thread. http://www.nola.com/saints/index.ssf/2015/01/new_orleans_saints_shake_up_sc.html#incart_river
According to nflspinzone.com, the Saints select.....Trae Waynes, cornerback, Michigan St., describing him as "fundamentally sound and reliable." 3 interceptions, 8 passes broken up and 11 defensed in '14.
I posted this last year about the Saints: "The Saints may start looking for LB help in the later rounds, starting in the 4th." *The Saints did draft a LB in the 4th and 5th rounds. The one drafted in the 5th is now with the Jags. This year I could see them drafting WR, and LB's in the early rounds. Then with 2 picks in the 3rd round looking to address the weakness at OL and CB. With 2 picks in the 1st, one in the 2nd and two in the 3rd, they have options. We'll see. They missed last year badly in the draft, hope to see a better outcome this year, if not, they will be taking steps backwards in the NFL.
None of this "we'll see" stuff. Get on out there in the deep water and make a call. What type of career does he have? I'm all in on Philly or bust. What say you?
Philly picks at #20, won't be there. They would have to move way up. Too many teams needing QB's before they get a pick. Bucs, Titans, Jets, Bears, Rams.....too many. Gonna need a little work before he's ready for the NFL. The right team and coach, he will do well. Lots of talk the Bucs are thinking about passing on Winston, then Mariota comes into play. When this comes out, gets teams to thinking, the ones that were on the fence... Attorney: Jameis Winston not ready for NFL off the field Posted: Apr 11, 2015 7:50 AM CST Updated: Apr 11, 2015 7:51 AM CST The Associated Press - The attorney who represented Jameis Winston during a sexual assault scandal, said the Florida State University quarterback is more than ready for the NFL on the field. But he's concerned about Winston off the field. During a sports law symposium on Friday, David Cornwell said, "Winston is ready to be a player on the field, but he's not ready to be an NFL player off the field." Cornwell clarified that no college player is ready for the NFL off the field. "The league will chew you up and spit you out and keep going," Cornwell said. Winston was never charged with the sexual assault, and he was cleared of any violations of Florida State's conduct code. If surrounded by the right people, Cornwell said Winston will be able to grow into a solid young man. Winston is a potential first-round pick in the NFL draft on April 30. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have the top pick. The team held a private workout in Tallahassee on Thursday that featured Winston and several FSU offensive linemen. Winston was in the Tampa Bay area on Friday for Mike Alstott's Golf Tournament.
I heard a rumor that Phillip Rivers could be traded to Tennessee. I don't think it will happen. I think the Titans will trade the #2 pick, probably to the Jets. Mariota isn't the type of QB who would fit in Whisenhunt's system. Wouldn't it be funny if the Jets threw in Steven Ridley along with their #6 pick? Ridley just got a Jets tattoo. Titans will stick with Mettenberger unless they can do a serious upgrade.
