I think this year was the bottom of the cycle as you describe it, his worst year we had 2 new QB's, Jarrett Lee threw a ton of INT's that year he lead the NCAA I think? JJ then came into the picture. I believe this is correct, its been a few years. We had to break in new, young players on offense and defense. I was annoyed after the loss to Auburn, I thought it was a total replay of 08. Some of you guys think he will be run off for some reason. He wins a lot of games against top competition also. The only coach he hasn't beaten consistently is Nick Saban.There are a lot of coaches in that same situation. He has done really well despite good or bad QB play. A lot of people are upset with QB play and play calling but Mett's years have proven they haven't been any better off against top competition with a great passing game, mainly talking of the Bama games. Those records year after year also prove my point, some of the best years didn't have good QB play or was inconsistent at best. I don't like losing to Bama, I hate it as a fan but I sure loved us man handling a top ten Ole Miss team then Texas ATM. It is fun taking it to a team if they can't stop you. The O line seems to be over rated at times or are inconsistent.
Good points. Like I said earlier my biggest problem is the 4 straight L's to that team a few states over. I knew the passing game was going to be an issue this year. We returned 1 experienced receiver, and tight ends are nothing more than an extra lineman, a "dual threat" sophomore qb with 1 game and 1 quarter of experience and true freshman "dual threat" qb who I never saw play except in a skills competition where he couldn't throw a tic tac into a swimming pool. A lot of returning o linemen, we all knew or at least should have known we were going to run 70 percent of the time. As far as next year I'm sure Les is sitting on his throne right now trying to come up with new ways to piss off the LSU fanbase.
