And did you notice how the media (sideline reporters) refer to pete carrol as "Pete".:dis:...... Bobby Night would B**ch slap somebody for that!
let's review: 34 game winning streak. (4 others are better{even Toledo has had a longer one}) 2 straight AP titles (been done most recently by Nebraska) lost Title game in attempt at 3rd straight (been done most recently by Nebraska) One legit National Title during win streak (same as 2 other schools during same period) I'm confused, what exactly makes them best ever?
They were doing that with other players as well - on BOTH teams. I don't see what the problem is. People want to know where he is on the field because he has been such a threat. Nothing wrong with that. Y'all seem to take the media love fest for USC WAAAAY to personally. Why does it pain you so much? Get over it, the season is over. As for being the best team ever? No way. That game could've been one of the best ever, but like SF said, you can't be the best team ever and barely squeak by several opponents throughout the season. USC had a high-powered offense, but that's it.
one of the most talented college offenses was the '94 Penn State team i think it was. kerry collins, kijana carter, kyle brady, bobby engram and a huge oline that crushed a very tough big 10 schedule that year. they averaged almost 50 points a game and over 500 yards per. I remember they'd be so far up at halftime they'd put in all the backups many times. check out the '01 Canes Roster. talk about the most talent Ive ever seen on an NFL team...wait, this is college. this team could beat the saints by 40 with ed reed at quarterback. 2 Willis McGahee RB 6-1 220 Fr Miami, FL 4 Najeh Davenport RB 6-2 235 Sr Miami, FL 5 Andre Johnson WR 6-3 220 So Miami, FL 6 Antrel Rolle CB 6-1 205 Fr Homestead, FL 7 Ethenic Sands WR 6-0 180 Jr Carol City, FL 8 Mike Rumph CB 6-2 200 Sr Delray Beach, FL 11 Ken Dorsey QB 6-5 200 Jr Orinda, CA 17 DJ Williams LB 6-2 235 So Concord, CA 20 Edward Reed S 6-0 190 Sr Saint Rose, LA 26 Sean Taylor CB 6-3 220 Fr Miami, FL 28 Clinton Portis RB 5-11 190 Jr Gainesville, FL 31 Phillip Buchanon CB 5-11 175 Jr Lehigh, FL 32 Frank Gore RB 5-10 190 Fr Coral Gables, FL 34 Jarrett Payton RB 6-2 205 So Arlington, IL 51 Jonathan Vilma LB 6-2 215 So Coral Gables, FL 54 Alex Garcia OL 6-1 275 Fr Miami, FL 60 Vernon Carey T 6-5 363 So Miami, FL 75 Vince Wilfork DE 6-2 338 Fr Lantana, FL 76 Carlos Joseph G 6-6 322 So Miami, FL 78 Bryant McKinnie G 6-9 330 Sr Woodbury, NJ 81 Kellen Winslow WR 6-5 210 Fr San Diego, CA 84 Roscoe Parrish WR 5-9 165 Fr Miami, FL 87 Kevin Everett TE 6-5 235 Fr Port Arthur, TX 88 Jeremy Shockey TE 6-6 236 Jr Ada, OK 94 William Joseph DE 6-5 290 Jr Miami, FL 95 Jerome McDougle DE 6-4 270 Jr Pompano, FL
Unreal, I saw the Canes destroy Spurrier and the Gators in the Sugar Bowl on new years 2001. Shockey must have had 10 catches in that game.......
Miama does have a knack for putting players in the NFL, I will give them that. With the exception of the Soulja, looks like most of those guys are having pretty good careers.
Gee, didn't really know that voicing my opinion wasn't allowed:dis: :dis: Just WTF do you want me to get over?
Dabbs, I believe some people on here take their self way to seriously. I think they need to relax and have alittle fun. :yelwink2: imo
