I want Phil to win his 4th. I like Spieth and I'll be happy if he wins. I certainly don't want Rose to win it as he has already ruined it for me at the US Open when he prevented Phil from winning it a few years back. I think it was critical for Phil to get into the final pairing with Jordan. I think it would have made a difference for Jordan to be watching a 3 time champ come after him on Sunday. Rose has never really threatened to even win the Masters before, so not nearly the pressure on Spieth playing alongside Rose.
Speith dominated. feel bad for Phil, -14 generally would be good enough to win the jacket, but damn Speith was in the zone. It was even more impressive to see him bounce back on day 3 after a double on 17 then get in trouble and save par on 18. He didn't let errors spiral out of control and bounced back each time he had one.
That 16th hole got a little sketchy for Spieth. Could have easily been a two stroke swing, leaving him only 2 shots ahead with 2 to play. It was probably the purest putt he struck all week saving par there. Surprised Rose was able to hold up, the US Open win obviously helped him stay calm and confident. If Mickelson was only competing against Rose, I think he would not have 3 putted for bogey on those two holes, having to be so aggressive to try and catch Spieth. Mickelson could have easily ended up 16 or 17 under, with different circumstances.
15th time in Lefty's career he has finished top 2 in a major as well as 22 top 3s. Tiger has 20 such 2nd place finishes and 24 top 3s. Goes to show you how Mickelson has been nearly as competitive in the majors as Tiger, but Tiger has found the way to close it out vs Lefty just not having quite enough.
Nick Faldo boldly attempted to call Tiger a liar regarding his wrist bone popping out of place and his "popping it back into place". He came up just short of doing so, catching himself mid sentence. What a douche. Can't we get a replacement for this English hack?
