I like the pick, gave him an A. As I discussed before I think Greg Williams is going to play him at CB/Nickel to get him seasoned for taking over a safety spot down the road. Williams has done this a couple of times in the past from what I have heard. Any help over the middle is a big step in the right direction for the Saints since we were exposed there time and again last season
Here are the previous draft picks by the Saints: National Football League: NFL Draft History Full Draft - by Team Since 2001, the highest picks the Saints have taken were: 2006 - Bush (#2) 2003 - Sullivan (#6) 2008 - Ellis (#7) 2005 - Brown (#13) 2002 - Stallworth (#13) 2009 - Jenkins (#14) 2004 - Smith (#18) 2001 - McAllister (#23) 2007 - Meachem (#27)
Wow, someone gave it a "D" already? Care to explain why? I'd at least give it a "C" but I haven't made up my mind yet (between a "C" and an "A," it is no "A+").
I went ahead and voted C. Jenkins was rated the highest DB by all the experts for this Draft and we needed a DB, so it was a no brainer to many that the Saints would take Jenkins (many, many, many people predicted this). As for myself, I was hoping the Saints would find a trading partner that would allow us to trade down, and apparently we couldn't find one. Being that we unfortunately got stuck having to burn our #14 pick on just one person, I'm cool with burning it on Jenkins... but there were others I'd have been just as happy with.
Was torn between a B and a C. I went with B since it is a need position and he can learn from one of the best in Sharper and hopefully take over that role. I just think RB was more of a need THIS year, and the window of opportunity for the Saints reaching a Super Bowl can't wait 4-5 years for this kid to be a stud.
So I guess you must remember Brandon Lafell and LSU abusing him huh lol or I guess every WR that played outside of the Big 10. Hopefully he will develop looking on the positive side.
