Well, my point was that talent overcomes mediocre X's and O's. Unfortunately I am forced to concede this is pretty rough to watch.

You're right, tough to watch. Thought we'd either barely win or barely lose, but didn't see this coming.

And we have won largely due to mega talent outweighing the shortcomings of Les Miles on game day. Add to that the two defensive coordinators that saved him time and time again (Pellini and Chavis). Now that he is not getting the production from the defensive side of the ball (2008, 2015), Les is looking at his two 8 win seasons (4 of those against powder puff OCC).

It may be fear but he may lose his job over the fear of not wanting to change

Malachi Dupre will have more receptions in 2015 than Smith and Washington combined for their whole careers. Les Miles is retarded.

It all begins and ends with Miles. As he reaped and deserved credit for the successes we've had in his tenure he should also reap the condemnation for the last 2-3 years. As I've said he seems to have lost the fire and determination of his early years that overcame any limitations in basic coaching.
He has hired an old and seemingly self satisfied staff. Only O and possibly Grimes & Raymond have been really competent in developing talent. Likewise whatever problems we've had recruiting and developing DL & LB talent really fall on Les. It's his job to balance the classes and oversee selection of recruits. I can see taking a chance on one highly talented but questionable recruit a year but the last few years have seem too many in each class. This has hurt as much or more than those leaving for the NFL after 3 years.
I have always liked Less and still do. I also never expected him to be better than Saban and wouldn't trade the two even now. However he hasn't kept his earlier level of performance and seems to have either no clue or desire to change. He has next year no matter what. I hope he turns it around but I don't expect it. If not I hope the AD and administration do a decent job of firing and replacing him.

This sentiment I don't get. You know in your heart of hearts that if Miles and Saban switched places, LSU would be the one with 3 titles and Alabama 0 in the past 6 seasons. You put LSU first, not Miles. It's great that Miles is a fantastic human being all things being considered, but this is about winning football games and ultimately championships. And it's not like Saban is running a sketchy program over at Bama.

I think Chavis and Haley got lazy recuiting the last couple years. Chavis never was known as someone that liked hitting the road recruiting. I think that's why we missed on some and gambled on others. It didn't help that the best of the bunch turned out to be academic failures or busts. For a combination of those reasons LB and DL recruiting has failed us in recent years. I also was not a big fan of Haley when it came to developing players. QB is the only other position that hasn't been recruited really well. It just happens to be the most important position and the one where the staff has failed the worst. I think it's fairly obvious why we have a hard time attracting quality QB's. It's also fairly obvious that we have failed when it comes to developing players at that position. I think given time O can get the job done at DL. I'm very unsure about Peveto and Steele at LB. I have ZERO confidence in Miles and Cam getting it done at QB.
