If we can see it Miles sure as hell can see that his offense is terrible in big games. He is just too damn stubborn to change it.

You've got to be kidding. Coker graduated last year, correct? B. Harris is what, 19?
My point is the only way out of this mess is solid recruiting and program continuity. Let Coach O get some solid classes in and wait 2 more years. Then you can evaluate. Offense seems to have talent they are just young.

Defense too. Arkansas gained over 200 yards on just three mistakes that might not happen to a more experienced D.

True, also a more talented D. We need better players, lineman and linebackers both.
The other thing that bothers me is this all or nothing attitude. Now. Everything and Now, or else we burn the place to the ground! That kind of attitude almost never works. It reeks of Pride. We all know what happens to people when pride and ego take over....bad decisions, that's what happens.
It's probably a poor comparison but I remember reading a interesting point about German history. Germany lost two world wars and suffered fifty years of being split in two in the twentieth century.
They are still the most powerful country in Europe. Imagine if they had just stayed put and let nature take its course. They would be an absolute Superpower.
LSU is one of the top programs in college football. Leave it alone.

OK, it's time to put this youth excuse to rest. LSU has been young, particularly on defense, for 4 years now. Chavis did an interview where he stated that LSU recruits on the assumption of a 3-year cycle because of early departures. You don't get to have it both ways by explicitly adopting a 3-and-done strategy and then blame lack of depth on youth. Hell, we started possibly the worst MLB in the SEC for 1 1/2 years as a junior and senior.

Even if Harris somehow puts it together in the next couple of years in this system, who does he have behind him? If Cameron's pro-style scheme is so complicated that it takes 3-4 seasons to master, and if he and Les refuse to adapt it to the players they recruit, then are we supposed to accept that we will only execute a competent offense every 3-4 years?

Miles is in his 11th year, not his 2nd.

I'm beginning to think that it's more a question of fear than being stubborn that keeps CLM from changing LSU's offense.

I always say the way you start a game sends a signal to your QB. If you game plan scared, your QB will adopt that same characterization. You saw Alabama throw some short safe passes to keep us from selling out on the run early on in the game and it opened it up for Henry later in the game. Smart game planning. We decided to run into a brick wall and throw later when we were absolutely forced to (down 10-0). Spot Alabama a 10 point lead on the road and your chance of winning is nil.
