I never panic till the 4th quarter. LSU has always been a 4th quarter team. That is when they get the job done.
No, but just like the red sox, they both have recently won two championships. Success has a way of changing expectations. Before you know it, you could start acting like other championship teams.
Actually under Saban we put a lot of games away in the first. I forget the average numbers we scored vs. held opponents to but they were quite impressive.
Huh? Before the Bama game, I think we had trailed for something like 6 minutes all season. How is that a come from behind team?
I am along the same lines as Sugarlsu. I have seen alot of games going back to the early 70's and have been disappointed a few times. You have to be conditioned to win and i am getting there but i still flinch against great opponents. I too would like to see us win them all once in my life.
I feel the same way ... but am labelled a "negatiger" for it. My problem, is I don't look at "great opponents" from an emotional stance, but from an analytical perspective. It doesn't matter how much I may hate a team. Thus, I tend to look at things differently. ... however .... .... Down deep, I'm pretty sure about this years team.
I stopped reading after that statement. ....cause you're ACES in my book!!! :thumb: Lived in Boston for 6 years prior to relocating in Atlanta. Had Red Sox season tickets in '04. :thumb: Sorry...I know I hijacked the purpose of the thread.
I think that will be hard for that to happen. Too many people around the country like to beat up on Louisiana, and oddly enough, we are ok with that. We just don't give a sht. Bring it on. Don't forget to check the scoreboard and leave some money on your way out, coullion! As for down-trodden, expecting the worse, you have not lived the life of a Saints fan, my man Penn. Until 2009, we had never even sniffed the NFC CG. We had a grand total of 2 playoff wins in our lurid 42-year history at that point. We would have easily traded two titles whenever they came, instead of this gris gris stuff we seemed to have going on. We won in 2009, and I kid you not when I say that generations of Saints fans can now die in peace.
I think people and as such, fans, are who they are. It just gets magnified by painful losses, bad seasons, and yes even success. Growing up a Saints' and LSU fan, I endured lots of losing seasons and bad times. Now that both are championship teams its been interesting to obseve the change in fans. Fans who were unhappy before are now spoiled and still "unhappy" if our teams don't win big. I'm just sitting back and enjoying the ride. This is an unprecedently great time to be a southeastern Louisiana sports fan, and I for one am loving every minute of it. I cherish these times as it will almost certainly not always be this good. GEAUX TIGERS!!WHO DAT!!
