This year we played 82 players in games (I know you've seen this before, if you read my posts). Next year the team still looks young, this is still a young team, as with this year. An upgrade at QB will help.

Lets look at the numbers. As the DB's goes, none will be Srs. next year, this is hard to figure, the play at True Freshmen adds to this. TM7, Reid, Loston, Duplessis and Simon will all be Jrs. Not saying we won't have some come out, but thats a young group with tons of playing time. Martin, Gibson and Vinson will all be Sophs.

As for the LB's, They also have no Srs. next year. Jones, Barrow, Muncie, Johns and Minter will all be Jrs.

On the DL, only one DT will be a Sr, Downs, with the DE's, Edwards and Aghayere are the only two Srs.

In all we will have 10 Srs. in next years class. 23 Jrs, 21 Soph and as of right now with the EE's 16 Freshmen. That gets me to a 70 total.

The hits from next years Sr class looks to be OL and TE.

OL has Srs. Branch, Hurst and P.J.
    Jrs. Faulk, Williford and Davenport.
    Sophs. Collins and Washington.
Guys red-shirted this year, White, Turner and Austin. EE Alexander looks to be good there.

TEs Edwards and Clement are the two Srs. with Sophs. Jacobs and Dickson. With TEs coming in with this class.

Only one Sr WR Shepard, no Sr. RB's or QB.

Still a young team, but lots of playing time and talent.

    Didn't get into the Walk-ons.

    Oh, with the Special Teams:
Drew Alleman will be a Sr.
Wing and Hairston will both be Sophs.
Reid Ferguson will come in as the deep snapper with Crappel leaving.
    Reid is another EE.

This is still a young team, returning lots of talent. LSU has done a great job of mixing young talent with the veterans. It payed off this year and will do the same next season. Right now, we are just filling holes, adding depth. We will still be young next season. Remember on next years team, we will only have 10 Srs, none will be QB's, RB's, LB's, CB's or Safeties. We still have a shot of some leaving after their Jr season, but this team is in good shape for the next two years with youth.

A larger breakdown: Number of players in next year class. (Number of Sr's)
    QB's-3 (0)
    RB's-7 (0)
    WR's-8 (1)
    OL-12 (3)
    TE-4 (2)
    DE-7 (2)
    DT-6 (1)
    LB-8 (0)
    CB-5 (0)
    S-6 (0)
    ST-4 (1)

Looking back 56 players return that played in games this year, this is also counting walkons. 23 players on the defensive side of the ball return.
