SO I take it you live out west. I am stationed about 4.5 hours from LA also. Sucks I can't go tho LSU!
Congresswoman Pelosi is San Francisco, 8th District. That is a 6-7 hour drive from Los Angeles. That's like Baton Rouge to Memphis. I feel the guy, with how he says money should be spent on education over sports... but at the same time, I don't think LSU loses money on our sports program, I think our sports program actually makes more money for our university's core mission of academic excellence. Also, you have the intangibles of how having a great sports program attracts more students to LSU, attracts more fans and donations for LSU, and increases the quality of life for Louisiana people in general, etc.
im talking california attitudes in general since the bruin poster was talking louisiana in general..:rolleye33:
Well I have never been to California, but I remember when I was claiming that South California (I was refering especially to LA) was liberal like San Francisco, USCvball and a few others here showed up to inform me that South California is Republican, unlike San Francisco. Remember, the modern GOP hero, Ronald Reagan, is a California man (Los Angeles). And California does have a GOP Governor right now (another man from Los Angeles).
Why are all the rest of the states now having to pay the bill for the TOTALLY BANKRUPT STATE OF CALIFORNIA????? Give me a friggin break! California WAS a nice place, now nothing but a high-class dump. You always claimed that you set the standards. Now all you can do is beg for bailouts. Get your house in order and do it quick. We are coming to see you!:geauxtige

id certainly trade alex box with a top public ed system, restoration after Katrina and or to clean up the Deepwater spill. do you think the $20 million spent on the box would cover it?
but the new box was constructed with donated money, not state funds. and considering that baseball probably generates revenue for the community, not a bad deal for the tax coffers.
