Miles, I'm afraid is going to wish he had ridden off on the shoulder pads of his team when he had the chance. He looked like the good guy and getting another gig with an elite team might have had some credence. If he belly-flops out of BR this season it's hard to predict anything but a nasty landing. After 10 seasons when one side or the other has had enough, it's usually just best to go.

I'm sure there's some desperate teams out there that think Miles could bring them the same kind of success he had in earlier years at LSU. But those are the teams that would be happy to finish with 7-8 wins. He'll land at a cush mid tier university with low expectations and cruise into retirement in another 5-10 yrs.

I would like to get Herman from UH. However I think it maybe harder than we think.
TCU was in a lesser conference and became a competitive against the big boys. Won a rose bowl and became a contender with good strong defenses and at times explosive offense.

I thought Patterson would leave for bigger schools but TCU kept him happy with pay. Then TCU was able to get in Big 12. I'm afraid it could be something similar with Herman. He may want to do that as well....try to get UH into Big 12, have UH pay him big money and sit tight.

Having grown up in Baton Rouge and living DFW, it is not that attractive of a destination and I would imagine that is a factor in making a decision like thi .

Now maybe the ego of wanting to compete in SEC and tapping in to the recruiting power of an LSU is enough to override the comparisons of the 2 cities and the scenes, override the wishes of the family (wife), or wait for the UT job to open up, et .
Now maybe the scene or city of destination doesn't play into these decisions. IDK.

Maybe an another mill/yr will change that.
What is he making at UH?

He will single handedly lower the MAC scoring average by 6 or 7 points

TigerTap How can you be that stubborn of an ass-kissing Miles fan boy, holy shit! I'm thinking you are actually Cathy Miles. Unless your blind, deaf, dumb or brain dead, you can see the days of miles just losing to Saban have been over for a long time! Damn man!

Of folks that we might actually get simpleton. Oh and would that be the same Urban that you claim Miles to be so much better than? Try again.
