I think the coaches did ok this season. Not "great", but ok. I also think we don't really have any big "star" players this season but I have a feeling that is about to change. Coach O is doing as good a job as any coach recruiting. I don't know yet if I like keeping Ensminger at OC, but I think with some better talent that may improve as well. We have some decent prospects out there now, some more promising than others. I'm good with Coach O. He takes responsibility and the players love the guy. I think over the next 2 - 3 seasons we will see more improvements. After all, if we hadn't been screwed in the A&M game, we should be 10-2. And that is not a bad season. This could be a LOT worse folks.
I don’t like keeping E, and we have two top 5 draft picks. I’m ok with O if he fixes the offense (including getting overly conservative) and cleans up the coaching staff in general. ST returns should always be advantage LSU. There is no reason our WRs shouldn’t be NFL caliber (except for crap offense), there is a ton of WR talent in LA.
Could have easily been 11-1. LSU is a better team than Florida, just not on that day. Who I like to see Hugh Freeze or Kliff Kingsbury at OC? Sure but hopefully with more talent and fewer key injuries E will be better than what was on the field this season.
Exactly. We have struggled at the QB position for far too long. It's time we had a star at the position.
This is a solid point. And it's why nobody can figure out why Lynn Swann extended Helton through 2023 earlier this season. Absolutely nobody was looking to hire him and he clearly had no resume to justify it.
Where are we on the buyout scale? This will be year 3 so unless it got renegotiated (I dont think that is a thing) we should be close to the affordable range. Especially since we no longer have to pay water head
