The last time we played this early in the state of Texas we got beat pretty convincingly. 2002 Cotton Bowl against Texas. I was at that game, and it was cold, and I remember not sleeping the night before. I wonder how many LSU fans didn't sleep last night, and how many are completely sauced right now.
That was an awful day. Other than the Capital One Bowl that was probably the worst stadium I've ever been to. If you recall we had a QB who was sick and reportedly vomiting at the half. I think they had to give him an IV at the break. We didn't start poorly but gave up a big turnover which started our demise. I did enjoy the "get-ups" many of the UT women were wearing. Fur coats, dresses, suits, and 10-gallon hats to a football game. Classic!
I remember. We started off really good, I think Marcus Randall was quarterbacking, the back breaker came when Roy Williams scored on a touchdown pass from Chris Simms. I vividly remember his sorry ass running up the LSU sideline taunting and I wanted to kill him.
Roy Williams singlehandedly beat us that day, making our defensive "genius" Saban look silly. The thing I remember the most about the game was a drunk Tiger fan, at least 10 years younger than me, was sitting next to me and hitting on me--while my husband was right on the other side of me. Kept saying he needed to find a girl just like me who loved the Tigers just as much as he did.
I was sitting in that cesspool called the Cotton Bowl in the middle of Longhorn fans. I don't remember a cute girl from either side to hit on. Just had to watch Williams make all those catches and our Tigers lose. I hate losing to UT or TAM. Thankful we pulled this one out.
