If we pick up DeAndre Brown and TJ Bryant will that get us into the top 5 for rivals? And then pick up another 5 and two 4's help up to hold onto a top 5 recruiting class?

DeAndre Brown alone gets us to #4.

I have no idea what teams are capping out at. So it's hard to say where we will end up.

We have the potential to end up at the 2600 mark. Benton not qualifying hurt us, as he would have counted again. That was probably 150 points or so that we missed out on. I was counting on that when I projected LSU to finish anywhere from 1st to no worst than 3rd. Now I think we will end up from anywhere from 3rd to 5th.

If we get both TJ and DeAndre, I don't think we will end up out of the top 5. Especially if we end up with 28 recruits instead of 27.

This must be a mistake. LSU does not have room for a JUCO DE, right?

For those who care....5* DT Omar Hunter commits to UF; consequently, UF moves to #1 in the rivals recruiting rankings.

    LSU sits at #11.

we have an offer on the table for him

If he commits before Edwards, do we take him over Edwards? He is proven and the #1 rated JUCO, which is saying something.

I don't see how he fits in with all the experience coming back, we would only need him for his senior season. But of course that worked out quite well for LSU regarding Claude Wroten. He was dominant as a senior. And we will be lacking leadership and exerience on the D-line heading into '09.

My guess is that we'll take either, but not both.

Simi would get immediate PT next year as a reserve, and be a starter in '09.

If Simi has no attitude or off the field problems, I think we take Simi over him. Simi seems like more of a sure thing and coaches probably weigh who they can win with now or next year rather than how recruits will pan out 3 and 4 years down the line.

    I agree on both points.

Interesting that Edwards would take so long to make what appears to be an obvious decision for him.

I would rather get 2 good/great years out of Kuli (see Wroten) vs 4-5 years out of a kid who has quesionable work ethics.

I am sure the sense of urgency has been relayed to Edwards, Kuli, Liuget and Thompson, which leads me to believe we will get a commit from a D-lineman no later this time next week.
